Walking with Bennie, my chocolate labrador on a wee Saturday morning, looking for a place to have some breakfast, a coffee and some water, I walked into Coffee & Coconuts at the Ceintuurbaan. Located in a building that originally started as a cinema theatre with its typical facade dating back to the 1920’s, this fine building stands out because of its typical architectural design. Coffee & Coconuts is a popular place and one of my favourite hang-outs for coffee.
Four different levels with various seating places can be enjoyed here, the interior setting is very relaxing and spacious. The big couches at the ground floor easily make you stay here for a while, they are very comfortable.
I order a big bowl of yoghurt with granola, a latte and the Harry Nilsson, a fresh young coconut & slice of lime on the side! For me a perfect start of the day. You can also order a full breakfast, a pain au chocolat, a croissant, muffins, brownies etc.
My favourite for lunch is the Big Dog, a very nice hot dog with mustard, ketchup and pickled veggies on a whole wheat hot dog bun. But I am always tempted to go for the spicy fresh chicken salad sandwich. Dinner can also be enjoyed here and the salad bar offers a wide variety of choice and you can order them in small, medium and large! Special Beers and wine are good and are available at fair prices and the service is good and friendly!
