De Nieuwe Anita is cosy little bar in the west. A bar like a living room in the front area. Very vintage, very second hand. Grandmothers lampshades. The back area features a basement hall, good for concerts and dance nights – low key, very accessible.
On Mondays De Nieuwe Anita houses a hand selected film program, called “Cinemanita” (entry € 3) far from the mainstream.
Tuesday nights there is live music behind the bar, the event is called “De Witte Geit” it’s a real recommendation, a diverse presentation of mostly alternative styles, from jazz to pop to electro, something for every taste, if you are a bit into the diverse and alternative. I am very sorry to have forgotten my camera last Tuesday – famous old star John Watts performed behind the bar. Imagine this charismatic guy who used to play in front of 30,000 people at Pink Pop in this private setting. A gem of a day.
Every style that’s individual, alternative, inspiring, funny, cool, creative has a home and a stage here. And there’s a new treat: Food! – but for that you’ll have to wait until September since the cooks are on vacation right now ;).
All in all it’s the personal atmosphere I like about the Anita. Personal talks, personal entertainment. Always welcoming.
