Wilde zwijnen means wild boars, but luckily Eetbar Wilde Zwijnen serves a lot more. This food bar has recently opened its doors next to the very successful restaurant that goes by the same name. Where the restaurant serves a three or four course meal mainly inspired by Dutch cuisine, the bar serves smaller portions inspired by the Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian kitchen. The dishes are meant to be shared, a concept which you see more and more in different restaurants and which I like very much. Perfect for when you want to go out for a drink and something to eat, without having to sit down for an elaborate four course meal.
Eetbar Wilde Zwijnen has a choice of around 15 different dishes on the menu, and also a couple of daily changing dishes like for instance the fish of the day. All of these delicious dishes can be accompanied by a wide range of very tasty wines or cocktails. I tried the pulpo with chorizo, tarte tatin of tomato and onion and croquettes with cod. All extremely tasty! For dessert I could not resist the cheese, three different kinds, absolutely perfect.
All of this great food combined with a relaxed atmosphere, nice interior and friendly staff ensures that I will be back here. Also I cannot wait to try the restaurant next door, hopefully soon!
