Albert Cuyp street is full of cool places to eat, but my latest discovery might be my new favourite. I just love Mexican food, and Los Feliz is a Cali Mex restaurant which serves all the classics like nachos, burritos, quesedilla’s, fajitas and enchilladas, and a great selection of cocktails to wash it all down.
The interior is super bright, colourful and cheerful, which if you use a lot of imagination could actually make you feel like you could be somewhere in Mexico. The staff is friendly and attentive (not always the case in Amsterdam) and our water glasses stayed full all evening, which is a small gesture, but something I really appreciate when dining out. The dishes are great, especially the carne asada (seared beef) burrito and chicken quesedillas. The classic margarita is great and really strong, but the ‘El Chapo’ is my absolute favourite. Made with tequila, passion fruit, ginger, and fresh chilli, it’s refreshing with a spicy kick! They also serve Mexican-inspired brunch dishes like huevos rancheros, churros and fried chicken!
