There might be something funny about Chinese take out food. I can guarantee you, the Chinese food from China will taste different than the Chinese food from your country and will also taste different than the one from the Netherlands. Go where the locals go, so follow the Chinese and you are sure to wind up here: Oriental City.
And before you get excited because it might be real authentic Chinese food, it will probably not be. The menu I get everytime I go there is the tourist, or non-Chinese menu. I can’t seem to get my hands on the Chinese menu, but even if I could, I can’t speak and read Chinese. So, the tourist menu will do. And boy, does it. When the 3 floor restaurant opens at 11:00, it starts with the amazing dim sum (steamed buns and more steamed stuff). With more than a 100 items to choose from (even more if you’re Chinese and have the Chinese menu) it’s a great way to spend your lunchtime.
The dim sum stops around 17:00 and will make way for the dinner menu. Be sure to try number 75 if you’re a meat lover or the famous Peking duck. There is plenty to choose from (even some with Indonesian influences). It’s still not really Chinese but Chinese people eat here and it’s Chinese people cooking really good food. What more can I wish for?
