The beautiful & delicious cakes invite you to be obeyed. Pompadour has a great location on the corner with the famous Spiegelstraat. It is modern and clean and quite large: a good spot for lunch with delicious lunch dishes. They became famous thanks to their chocolates & cake. They have great éclairs and lovely apple & apricot tarts. But the famous raspberry a la neige with white chocolate is also tasteworthy. Pompadour also has a branch in the 9 streets (Huidenstraat 12), with a romantic and Marie Antoinette style. Details about this spot (Show on map).jpg)

I went here with 4 girlfriends and thought it was a nice spot. The staff were lovely and it wasnt too expensive however the coffee was very weak (I ordered a cafè latte) though the little cake we got with it was great!
I have not been to this location of Pompadour. My wife and I have, however, been regular customers at the Huidenstraat 12 location for many years. In September and October we were in Amsterdam for 2 weeks and visited at least every other day. The pastries are wonderful as are the chocolates. Tea and a pastry is always a pleasure in a beautiful setting and an attentive professional staff. A wonderful way to take a break. Though we hadn’t been in Amsterdam for 4 years the owner welcomed us acknowledged us as regular customers as soon as we walked in the door. If the tables are full, take your pastry across the street to the Coffee Shop “Extreme.”
My wife and I prefer the original Pompadour at Huidenstraat 12. It maybe smaller but it has a much friendlier atmosphere. We have been going there every other year since our honeymoon to Amsterdam in 1998.
