Roest is one of my favourite local spots in Amsterdam to hang out at on a sunny day. Outdoors they have a cool and relaxed city beach where you can chill with a drink in hand and your feet in the sand. You can order simple dishes like (veggie) burgers or a variety of small bites to share, and in summer they often organise events like BBQs and outdoor parties. You may even see some locals taking a dip in the water is the weather is really hot.
The indoor bar area is just as cool, with a very industrial vibe. On the weekends they host (vintage) markets there in the afternoon, and different themed parties in the evenings. The parties vary from ’90s hiphop to Afro Caribbean, Latin, classic house and reggae dancehall, so there’s definitely always something to suit everyone’s taste. Then they also have some other fun themed events like Chess & Jazz, Puzzles & Reggae and Deephouse Yoga.
Keep an eye on their Facebook page to stay updated on all the events!
