The first cold pressed juicery in Amsterdam ever at Willemsparkweg is a very popular place. Straight from the U.S.A., most of the desperate housewives of Amsterdam-Zuid and health and body conscious people visit this place on a daily basis. AWIL’s flood the place whereas AWIL stands for Adult Women In Lycra…combined with the obligatory Nike, Asics or Adidas running shoes in pink, orange or blue.
All day long, from the wee early hours starting at 07:30 when I go out for a walk with Bennie the chocolate labrador, the first women arrive in their business suits for their fresh healthy cold pressed juices and superfood smoothies. Meanwhile they collect their weekly doses of juices and smoothies for detoxification.
Depending on what they’ve been doing the night before they are ordering the Sinner or the Cup of Youth. Or maybe they go for the Sh*t with the day in the office already on their mind. The Sh*t contains almond milk, banana, coconut meat, tahini, brazil nut, cacao, carob, dates, honey, maca, chia seeds, bee pollen, Himalayan salt and chili and costs € 6.50 M/ € 7.50 L. Try it, you’ll like it!
Popular cold pressed juices are the Glow (pineapple, strawberry, beetroot and ginger – my favourite) the Reset (orange, grapefruit, lemon, cucumber, ginger, honey, cayenne) and the Pro (apple, fennel, lemon, probiotic). You can order power shots, healing teas, salads, seasonal soup of the week and wraps as well. This place is steaming hot and happening and sells healthy products! Yummy!
