On the same square as this beautiful library Permeke Library (check the Permeke article) you find Café Kiebooms where on Thursdays and Sundays people swing the night away.
Marvel at the beautiful decor when you enter this bar: giant mirrors, round tables, cozy light: this could be Paris in 1952. On the small stage there is just enough room for a jazz combo.
Come early to find yourself a seat, order a Vedett (a retro beer) and wait for the fun to start. Once the band starts to play people begin dancing lindy-hop style, an American dance from the Twenties. Don’t be shy and dance along or just stay in your seat and admire the music and the mixture of people that come here: from straycats to young, well-dressed girls. They all know where they need to go for a night out to remember.
