We all share a love for food, I can’t imagine it otherwise. And if you’re anything like me you enjoy food best when it becomes a complete experience. This is what the concept behind diMange brings to the table and quite successfully in my opinion. They have managed to gather farmers that share a passion for food, by celebrating their originality, excellence, quality and of course delicious artisanal production.
This concept brings together the traditional way of food-tasting, groceries and a market but it also provides a quite elaborate experience. It is an exposition of the finest preparations, products, promotions and presentations. You can buy fresh local products like potatoes or witloof (chicory), but you can also discover special delicacies like honey waffles (What?!). If you’re more the traditional type or heavy eater, not to worry. The freshly baked bread and barbecued meat with vegetables will satisfy your urges.
This gastronomic experience speaks to all my senses. Walking around diMange is like walking in a wonderful mosaic of delicious smells. You can get your fingers into some irresistible honey made from the bees of Antwerp (Yes, these bees live on the rooftop of the city hall!), or some tasty and masterfully prepared fries, like they only can be in Belgium.
For the little ones, you can finally allow them to play around with food at the creative workshops, while you roam around while listening to the tunes of old vinyls and peacefully enjoy your Sunday tasting that is diMANGE.
