Most probably you experienced a connection error while downloading your city guide. We advice you to remove the app completely, and reinstall it again.
1) Go to Settings => Applications => Manage applications
2) Choose “uninstall”
3) Download The Spotted by Locals app again from Google Play
4) Re-install your city (of course you won’t be charged again!)
If you have purchased the full version before, all spots & maps will be downloaded. It can take up to 10 minutes to download a complete city guide, as all maps are stored offline in the app.
Yes, all the tips and maps in all city guides work completely offline. You can turn your internet connection off, and everything will work!
Only if you visit an external link (which you won’t have to do – all info is included in the app) you have to be online to open it. We warn you with a pop-up, so don’t worry!
Our Spotters write about their favorite spots only – spots they visit frequently. They constantly update their articles, to keep them up-to-date and up-to-season. Whenever you’re online, the app notifies you when there are updates available. If you choose so, the city guide will be updated – for free of course!
All updates of this app, and new tips will always be free.
Yes! if you want the app to remember a certain spot, you can store it as a “favorite” in a city guide. On the map you can easily recognize spots you favorited.
Yes, you do. The app will not download if your Android device does not have a GPS.
Congratulations with your new phone :). We will help you switch for free by refunding your double purchases. Unfortunately Google & Apple don’t play well together and especially Apple does not make it easy to refund, so it takes a few steps.
1) Make sure you purchased the same city guide for both Android and iOS
2) Take a screenshot of the opening screen of the app on your iPhone (we can’t look into your account)
3) Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to this email with

Yes of course!
We refund each upgrade from our “old” one city app after we can confirm you have purchased the stand-alone version as well as the same city from our new app from the same Google Play account.
Please send an email to email@example.com stating the Google Play email address you used to purchase both city guides. We will refund and reply within 24 hours.
