Aerostato – Arty café

It is a habitual thing on hot summer days to sit at the outdoor tables with a newspaper and relax but I also love it on cold winter nights for a drink with friends. Aerostato (=aerostat) is an old all day café-bar located in a well hidden square of Athens, Proskopon square. It is smoke free and suitable for breakfast, coffee, snacks or a drink.

I like the casual atmosphere of this place but what I like most is the variety of people who hang out there. Many artists, especially actors, mixed with locals of the neighborhood and in the mornings old ladies, who are looking for chat, hang out there. I have heard really interesting stories from them about Athens and the old days of this square.

You can visit Aerostato any time of the day and relax in one of the most classic cafes of Athens.
