After spending the night at Psirri or in Monastiraki area I always ended up (or rather – started my day), at this bakery. I usually had a wonderful bread with raisins or a donut full of sugar.
When my dad visited the area for the first time he was shocked to see how many people were waiting in queue at 4 o’ clock in the morning just to taste a slice of bread. It is really necessary if you want to adjust to Athens’s life to eat something after litres of alcohol and before going to sleep.
And do not forget to try “koulouri of Thessaloniki”- a type of round bread with sesame! So simple and so tasteful!
A legendary shop in Athens!
