Kimolia is the Greek word for “Chalk”. Kimolia is also my second home! Before I write anything else, you have to know that Kimolia is owned by my mother (Katerina) and her friend Renata!
Kimolia has been our second home from December 2011 till today! The hectic financial situation in Greece and our financial predicament, led us to look for a way to create opportunities for ourselves. We rented this traditional Greek house, built in 1925, decorated it with love and everything we had in our house (!), and we turned it into an art cafe! With my mother being a painter and all-around artist, the place became what it is now, with her and her friends creating the chairs, painting the walls and donating their paintings for decoration!
We offer a specialty coffee from early morning, delicious salads, sandwiches and snacks all day long, Greek wine and beers at fair prices and drinks and cocktails until 02:00 in the morning. Homemade sweets made by mama Katerina are available daily! We support Greek producers and the Slow Food movement by principle!
Kimolia listens to jazz and blues in addition to hosting it hosts nice exhibitions from jewellery to paintings and photos, all year long. Get inside and check it out for yourselves. If you are in need of any help, please let us know!
