Knot gallery – Experimental art

Lately in Athens intense mobilization can be detected in experimental music, theatre and in other fields of art. Knot is the space where those artists freely communicate their work to the audience.

In 2008 three artists gathered together and created this nonprofit company. Ever since gigs, theatre performances and workshops are present in the weekly agenda. As far as I know, Knot is the only gig space in Athens that it is smoke free and the selection of artists that perform there is very interesting. The simplicity of the space gives the artist many options and sometimes interacts with its work. It is peculiar how this simplicity can influence a performance or an installation instead of being just the background.

What I like most are the mini music festivals of one day. Many times I have heard bands there for the first time, some of them might be dull but usually I get pleasantly surprised with new sounds!

So if you would like to see what is happening in the experimental music and theatre scene of Athens do not miss to pay a visit to one of Knot’s events!
