Open market Kallidromiou – Every SATURDAY

Every Saturday at the open-air market of Kallidromiou Street, producers from all over Greece sell their goods in a celebration of colours, smells and sounds. You can find fresh fish, fruits, vegetable, homeware or even a snack.

The producers are setting their benches from 03:00 am and people fill the street starting early, from 07:00. The market covers the necessities of the near by areas like Neapoli, Exarheia, Lycabettus so people, ages and faces vary, composing a wonderful Saturday morning, accompanied with the loud voices of the salesmen.

It is a nice opportunity to watch the procedure of picking and bargaining, but don’t be late , because it closes at 16:00.( it’s also the time to find the best deals, the prices tend to fall as time passes..). If it rains, don’t hesitate, take your umbrella and off to the market. The scenery is great and you can enjoy it by having a coffee at one of the local cafes.
