For all of us living in the centre of Athens, Thission & Monastiraki have always been places for long walks and even longer coffee-breaks. The road connecting Thission with Monastiraki is called Ermou Street and is filled with small shops with old albums, t-shirts and antiques of all sorts! Somewhere there, hidden in a small alley, if you look really closely you will find a really small wooden door that is the entrance to The Art Foundation (called TAF) that is a co-working space for artists and architects but also works as a cafe-bar, all day long and as a modern art exhibition space.
Past the small wooden door, a big space filled with tables and chairs, welcomes you and makes you feel like you went missing into some worm-hole, far away from the noisy streets and stress of the flea market! I have been there quite often myself, enjoying a quick coffee or a long beer or two… Make sure you get there as early as possible to get some time to enjoy the place, before the noisy Athenias invade it!
