You don’t just have a beer in the Fabrica Moritz. You have a whole food, culture and leisure experience!
There are so many reasons why I love this place. The building is spectacular, it’s the original Moritz brewery built in 1864 which, after a renovation that lasted 10 years, finally opened a couple of years ago and has now become a cultural meeting point in the Sant Antoni neighbourhood. It’s such an eclectic and interesting place which boasts an enormous offering: a bakery, a wine bar, a brewery bar, a concept store, a foosball table, a newsstand with an amazingly rich international selection, unpasteurized fresh beer and rooms where they celebrate cultural events, presentations and parties pretty much every day. You can also see where they originally brewed the Moritz beer in a museum-style underground space.
They’re open pretty much 24/7 (from 08:30 – 02:30 daily) which makes it extremely comfortable when I find myself wandering around the center and thinking of possible places to go.
My favourite beer is their Epidor, a strong, bodied and toasted lager. Paired up with some of the tapas they serve at the brewery bar, it makes visiting Fabrica Moritz a great experience on any given day.
