Ever since my childhood I have the memory of looking forward to Christmas and to ‘Les paredetes de la Gran Via’. Year after year without exception, I have never missed any Christmas season to come to this magic spot several times. Why? Keep reading…
There are approximately 200 hundreds of ‘paraditas’ (mini cozy stores) where you can mainly find toy shops (my ‘mami’ used to buy Christmas gifts here back when I didn’t yet know Santa wasn’t real), you can also enjoy typical mystical tents with jewelry, silvery, wooden and homemade decoration articles, crafts, soaps, lamps, ceramics, clothing, food and sweets. Totally charming.
Gran Via is one of the biggest streets in the city, very large and wide; from Pl. Espanya to Les Glories crossing Pl. Catalunya.
So, what’s the plan? Go there for a walk, some window shopping or maybe you’ll find the decorative object you have been looking for for many years, buy ‘churros w/chocolate’ and try to blend in with the locals to enjoy and note the Christmas feelings and atmosphere.
