Do you like books? I like books. I read them, and I write them.
I visit Hibernian, in Gràcia, every two weeks or so, usually with a few books to trade in. Here, they don’t give you cash for your unwanted books, but credit your account. They give you a fairly good deal.
While here I’ll have a good long browse and maybe pick up a few flyers for upcoming events. We have too many books in the house, so I try my best to not buy too many books while here. It’s hard – they have so many very interesting and reasonably priced books.
As well as a huge stock of second-hand books they stock a good selection of new books about, or based in Catalunya and Spain, including the highly recommended, Barcelona – the city that re-invented itself by Michael Eaude and books by Matthew Tree.
They have a pretty good selection of cookbooks. And, if you’re a foodie or a chowhound, you may want to pick up a copy of Catalan Cuisine by Colman Andrews while here.
They also have a good selection of books about pop and rock music, and a curious selection of pulp fiction from the 50s and 60s.
And, they now stock a few books in French, Italian and German.
Worth a visit and a good browse.
