Who doesn’t love a good slice of pizza.
Fellow Spotters Sean and Cynthia have already covered their favourite pizzerias in the Raval (check the La Veronica article) and Born (check the NAP and Restaurant del Barri articles) neighbourhoods. I wanted to let you know about my favourite pizzeria selling pizza by the slice, the lovely and delicious La Fermata with shops in both Eixample and Sarriá.
Pizza at La Fermata is sold by slices and by weight. They have the most mouth watering selection: eggplant, mozzarella and sundried tomatoes, parma ham and mozzarella cheese, arugula, mozzarella and sobrasada, shiitake and ricotta… the varieties are endless and change with whatever is in season. My personal favourite is the pizza with caramelised onion and goats cheese with honey, always available and simply mouthwatering!
If you feel like something that isn’t on display you can also have your very own slice made right then and there for you, choosing from the many toppings available. Another reason why I love this place!
Small tip: Their shops are cozy but very small and with very limited seating space, if you go at peak hours you might not find a place to sit down and eat your pizza there. You can of course always grab it as take-away.
