Beer aficionados rejoice! If you’re into the scene, this will be a well known one for you. If like me, you can’t claim to be a beer expert, try this spot out for something different. La Cerveteca proclaims itself the first bar in Catalonia dedicated specifically to craft beer and independent breweries. They have been up and running for the best part of nine years, and now they also have a secondary focus on gastronomy to accompany their fine selection of brews.
If on a night of bar hopping, or occasionally if just starting the night off with fresh tastebuds, I enjoy coming here to sample something new, and to take a break from the ubiquitous Estrella or San Miguel that can be found in every other bar. Inside, there’s beers to suit every taste (of course) and some fine tapas to accompany them if you so wish.
Don’t be afraid to ask the staff for recommendations, these people know and love beer, so they are always happy to help. The selection changes regularly, which means each time you come there’s something new and exciting to try. Prices are generally higher than other bars, naturally, and of course depend heavily on the beer you choose, but for the experience of something different, splash out!
