Time goes by and here we are again looking for a cool den of iniquity to celebrate my birthday.
Although the quest of lust and desire was focused in the old town perimeter, a friend of mine told me he was going to play on a Monday night in a tiny bar near the Sagrada Familia, owned by two Czech girls friends of him and I just went for the gig. Then felt in love with the Czech black beers (try the master) and the food, as well as the bohemian atmosphere.
Actually it is said that the word Bohemia as we know it comes from a region in the Czech republic that was an important spot in the gipsies pilgrimage circuit, so that everywhere they went afterwards they were called bohemians. Hence the term adopted the meaning from their casual, carefree, debauched, keen, shameless lifestyle.
Be aware that sometimes when you ask for a beer the girls bar tending appeal to the chauvinist pride of latin machos asking whether you want the cup for kids or the adults size. The kids cup is half a pint (not like the Spanish caña) and the one for the growns is like a washtub!
