I’m all into trying out new things, but I also appreciate and hang on dearly to those that mean something special to me. The same way I like to celebrate my birthdays with my family and paella at Xiringuito Escriba (check the Xiringuito Escriba article), I like to go on special occasions with my significant other to the restaurant Tibet.
I can’t think of a more cozy and romantic spot. Nestled right below the rooftop of this old building, Tibet has a very rustic and homemade feeling to it. It offers traditional simple catalan cuisine: pa amb tomaquet, charcoal grilled meats and the best snails in town (so they say – I’ve never been a fan of the tiny slugs!). We always split a variety of dishes and wash everything down with sangria, which they make to perfection.
Tibet lies right next to the Parc Guell, and it’s been a staple of the neighborhood for the past 50 years. As you would expect from such a restaurant it’s been family-run to this day. I hope it stays the same for many more years to come!
