Down by the park, there’s a doorway that leads straight to the kitchens of Mexico. Tlaxcal, forever challenging (for me) to pronounce, is a great Mexican restaurant in El Born with a fantastically youthful and vibrant approach to their food. It’s located not far from both the park and the train station Estació de França, and the layout inside is quite modern yet informal. For the busy times, there’s also a downstairs area, which is quite similar to the upstairs/ground floor.
Here the sheer quality of the food speaks for itself. Every dish I’ve tried to date has been delicious! There are a lot of Mexican places in this city, but just like with good music, the best of the best always shine through. The food has such a great quality of being loaded with a wide range of great and exciting flavours, a great place to excite the tastebuds with something vibrant. So, if you want to try some of the best food in Barcelona, Mexican or otherwise, pay Tlaxcal a visit as soon as you can.
