First time I spotted it, it was 10:00. A cute little garden, hidden between two huge buildings, in a quiet street where nothing used to be. I needed an intermezzo after an early meeting and I thought I could test this one. Good choice. Tables and chairs of various colours and designs, an old well in the middle, and inside a gallery with an exhibition of silk scarves (every two weeks, another artist’s work is on display; for eyeing and buying). As I didn’t have my camera at the time, I decided to come again with a friend and take some photos. But in the evening, I could hardly recognize the place.
The small girly garden was almost completely transformed into a pretty macho place. One table was occupied by guys playing cards, another two by groups of supporters their eyes fixed upon a suspended TV set, following a football match. Not that I was bothered, no, but…
A two-faced place.
During the day, a chill-out space.
During the night, a boys’ hangout spot.
Nothing against it.
It’s just that it’s weird.
So weird you have to see it.
Day or night, order honey brandy (medovača) – it positively slides down your throat. Heavenly.
