A part of Belgrade called Banovo Brdo is usually referred to as “the Hill” by its inhabitants, although it is not the only one of Belgrade’s hills. “I live on the Hill”, “Let’s meet up on the Hill”, you’ll very often hear. That is the hill you see from Ada Ciganlija and, being the closest one from the city centre, it is also the one you might be most tempted to check out. If you give in to the temptation, you might like this little town in itself.
Only a couple of stops away from the city centre, Banovo Brdo has a centre of its own, a green market, a cineplex, a high school, and everything else a small town needs, including some beautiful relaxing places, one of which is “Balance”.
It is situated in the main street and when you get off the bus you will not see what you see here in the picture. However, if you look for a sign with a name (and summon the courage to enter) you’ll find yourself in this beautiful quiet little park with a small bubbling waterfall, and really nice personnel.
Have dinner, taste some cocktails or just relax with a cup of coffee, you’ll be happy your adventurous spirit took you away from the centre and made you discover this little gem.
