Something funny for a friend, something naughty for the boyfriend, something useful for the practical aunt… Some people are easy to shop for and yet some other ones…
For me, the biggest problem are the small things for the people who expect something from a trip but are not close to me enough to be given a particular gift: a neighbour, a colleague, a nice shop assistant who saves a nice piece of meat. In those cases, a fridge magnet, a mouse pad, a placemat, and things of the sort come to mind but those are usually either too tacky or way overpriced (or both!)
Belgrade used to have the same problem but now it has Belgrade Shop Window.
Very centrally located, the shop offers a variety of “small gifts” – stationery, kitchenware, T-shirts, books about Belgrade, old maps, photos, and so on. All the things have a very modern design, a sign or two of Belgrade printed on them (my favourite ones are those with the cute little sparrow!), and are totally affordable.
Plus, you can share your impressions on a card, like the John and Lana (see photo) did!
