The concept of “splav” (raft) in Belgrade has a negative connotation, as they’re famous for kitsch music and trashy people. But Brodic na Savi (roughly translated as “a small ship on the Sava”) is way different.
As you can guess from the name, it’s a small ship turned into a bar and restaurant. I loved it from the moment I first went there, and I’m very happy that it’s in my neighborhood. First of all, it’s a great place to chill at during hot summer days: it’s always a bit cooler by the river. The view over the river and the bridges is beautiful and calming, and if you stay long enough, you can also see the sunset.
The chairs and tables on “Brodic” are kinda retro and worn out, which makes the atmosphere super-cozy and messy, just the way I like it. They serve hot pizza and cold beer (it doesn’t get better than that), and the prices are incredibly affordable.
Brodic na Savi is located near Belgrade Fair, so it’s not hard to find the location. However, it’s not obvious straight away which of the boats is the right one. But, when I first tried to find it and still didn’t know what it looked like, I was successful. A friend described it as “the coziest place on the Sava,” and when I saw it, I knew it was the one. It’s indeed one of the coziest places I’ve ever visited in Belgrade.
