Konak kneza Miloša – A journey back in time

Konak Kneza Miloša (The Residence of Prince Miloš) is the place that lets you travel from the 21st straight to the 19th century. The construction of the Residence began in March 1831, and this is the place where Prince Miloš lived and conducted both his private and state affairs.

The residence is surrounded by the beautiful Topčider Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Belgrade. As for the building itself, it’s charming both from the inside and out. When I first entered this place, my imagination started running wild. I read about the lives of Prince Miloš and his family and imagined myself living in that age, in the residence like that. I’m not really good at history, but boy am I good at dreaming! 🙂

Other than giving you an insight into the lives of Serbian 19th-century royals, Konak Kneza Miloša also hosts temporary exhibitions and events. You can get informed about them here, but even if you visit Konak just to see the permanent exhibition – it will be worth it.
