Kvaka 22 (literally translated ‘Catch 22’) is an alternative art space that was created when a group of young people came together and cleaned up a house (something in between a house and a building anyways) that stood abandoned and in decay. They put in a lot of effort, time and energy to get it to look the way it does today (which is a super nice space which you will love, I promise you).

It’s a place where young artists gather, exchange ideas, create and present their own work. Which is great because here you can get an opportunity to show your work without the hassle that you would have to go through with a big gallery that often costs too much and has weird ways of choosing who’s work they will present.

They often have film screenings, music or poetry nights. The entrance is usually free and you can get a beer for a reasonable price. You will meet interesting friendly people whenever you go there. You can check the events they have on their facebook page and if you happen to be there while it’s nice and warm outside they have a huge terrace where they have screenings from time to time. It’s not far from the city center, just hop onto the bus line 27 and get out at ‘Dalmatinska’ and walk for about 200 meters and you’re there.
