Laufer || Eugster Belgrade is a gallery dedicated to contemporary art in the Balkans. They exhibit and represent contemporary artists from Belgrade and the region.
A new space, recently opened near Danube among a bunch of storage places of some bigger companies. First time I went there, I was not able to find it without a bit of help of Google maps, as there are no pointers. You can take the bus 44 to bus stop ‘Viline vode – Tempo’ and you will be 100 meters from it (this is something I discovered a bit late, but it will do the trick for you).
It is very spacious and open, something which you can’t say for many galleries in Belgrade. From outside, it’s brightly painted in white and blue so it is easily noticeable.
I love places that are not crowded and a bit isolated. And that is what makes this gallery special; it’s near Danube, with no crowd whatsoever and you can simply enjoy what is shown there, without being disturbed by other things.
It is usually open on Saturdays when there are exhibitions but you can also contact them and arrange a visit for another day.
Their first exhibition was called ‘Boogie, Demons’. Boogie is a Serbian photographer who lives and works in New York, he is most famous for his ‘underground’ photographs. Check his work out, you might love it.
I would suggest checking their website and/or Facebook page to see which exhibition they have going on at the moment.
