We tend to look down when we are going into underground passages. Which is only logical because to do so we use the stairs, usually.
Some of the entrances of the underground passages can be decorated beautifully. As is the case with this one, just where Terazije street begins. It’s a stone mosaic, with very vivid colors and some very weird shapes that all together work very well.
When we see some colors we attribute other things to them, like a fragrance for example (or at least I do); well, in a similar manner when I see this mosaic I think of blues music. I get a very playful vibe from it but at the same time also a deeply complicated and, at times, sad one.
So if you are hurrying, and running down the stairs, pause. And look at the tiny stone pieces that someone took the time to carefully arrange into this amazing picture.
