Murals are something I think every city should have as many as possible of. Or at least quite a few. This one is in the city center on Terazije street. And it is huge! And yet people who have lived here their whole life don’t notice it.

Belgrade has over 50 murals and the first one was made in 1970. A lot of them have been destroyed (sigh) but some have been preserved.

Girl with the umbrellawas created by Čedomir Vasić with the help of Dušan Miljuš and Đorđe Đurić (that is what the internet says) and it is one of the prettier ones in Belgrade. It is located just by Bioskop Zvezda (the cinema that was revived by a group of young people a few years back). What is interesting about it is that, right next to the obvious one, is another exact same mural of the same girl done as a negative in black. So pay attention to that.

And when you are already there, look around, there are a few more interesting murals in the same street (one features a huge door!).
