Strogi Centar is a bar in the very center of Belgrade (hence the name). Yet, when I first stepped inside, I instantly felt like I was teleported somewhere far from this city and this time.
I discovered Strogi Centar accidentally, as I often do with great places in Belgrade. Upon entering, I was in one of the most charming bars I’ve ever visited. High ceilings, drawings and photos covering the walls, interesting ornaments all over the place… It’s a shabby place, but it’s super-cozy.
The staff is nice and friendly, and the place is full of cool, urban people. The music is great, too. Strogi Centar used to be an apartment, so it has a few rooms. Therefore, you can listen to a gig in one room, choose another room to have a drink and chat with friends, or play foosball in the third room. It’s a concept I appreciate because there’s something for everyone. Or something for me no matter the mood I’m in.
