At first glance it’s just a gate like any other in this narrow, hidden street. But what’s hiding behind this gate is a heaven for all blues fans.
Vox Blues Club (or simply “Vox”) was founded in 1995, and it quickly became the favorite place of all those who love blues and rock gigs. Many local and guest musicians have performed here, and some of them kick-started their career exactly on this stage (Ana Popovic, anyone?).
The moment I first entered the club, I felt the atmosphere that simply invited me to stay. The place itself is cozy and hidden from the city noise. The staff is friendly and professional, and of course, the music is great at all times of the day. When I hang out in Vox during the daytime, I sip coffee in the open area of the pub. Surrounded by greenery, it’s possible to watch the sunset over Lake Ada and enjoy the view, the music and the friendly atmosphere of the place.
When the sun sets and the evening comes, it’s time for some live music. There are live blues and rock gigs in this club almost every day. They are mainly located indoors, and this part of Vox has the atmosphere of a blues pub from a movie or a song. If you come for a visit, have “one bourbon, one scotch and one beer,” and enjoy your night!
