Whether you decide to start your visit to Zemun from Gardoš or to end it there, you should definitely opt for a long walk alongside the right bank of the Danube. Although in its entire length of 2.5km it runs parallel to the streets with rather heavy traffic, it is completely separated from them – by houses, green market, or green areas – so it really does offer a good stretch of relaxation which, depending on individual preferences, can mean: walking, cycling, sitting on the benches, feeding wild ducks or having a drink in one of the numerous clubs, cafes or restaurants on barges, especially when it comes to nightlife: those are among the most favourite spots of younger generation.
If you decide to take the route from Zemun towards Belgrade, you can continue under the bridges until you reach New Belgrade. Or, alternatively, if you’re cycling, you can cross the bridge, take the lift to the right bank of the Sava and cycle on to Ada.
And don’t be put off by the weather: Zemun quay is an excellent place for a good walk in any season.
