Great bar, great staff, cool vibe, fantastic tunes.

Almost perfect unless you want to breathe like a normal human being.

Sadly, the cloud of cigarette smoke you will encounter means you’ll be unable to do so. Thus our visit was cut short. Berliners still slaves to Big Tobacco apparently.

It is a very fascinating place, but not for the faint of heart. The energy of all that occurred there is still present in the bricks, in the plaster, in the floors. The story you will hear from the guides is truly horrifying. I’m glad I went, but in the end, I found it very depressing.

I was there some time ago and I thing it’s better to wait till the end of the year to “see it properly”. The exhibition is crammed in a very small space and everything seems a little bit rough and ready. But I must admit it’s a great idea to serve tea and coffee exactly where it used to be served for the officials of the building.

On our last day in Berlin, we jumped on a U train going the wrong way and got off at Ostkreuz intending to start walking back toward Karl-Marx Allee…long story short, we literally stumbled upon Simon-Dach-Strasse. Wish we had had more evenings to spend there – it is fantastic.
