After feeding your tummy at the legendary Curry 36 or nearby Mustafas Gemüsekebab you should also feed your brain with intellectual food. The shop Extra-Buch is only some meters away and offers modern books for cheaper prices than other book shops. How it works? The owner buys remnants from publishing houses, second quality releases or special prints and therefore he is allowed to sell them under the regular book price.
But don’t worry: The prints are not in a bad condition or antiquated. You can forage in new, modern books published in the last years. The offer ranges from novels, cookbooks, travel and language literature to children’s books and many more. Most of them are in German but a book for a 3 year old kid might also be a good reading exercise for adults learning the German language.
Usually I don’t buy many “real” books anymore because I use an E-Reader. But when I come here I can’t resist. Strolling through the shop, thumbing through some books that caught my eye and towing my pickings home is still so much fun!
