I don’t know if burger joints are the new trend but so many – too many? – have opened in Berlin over the last few years. The list of places is as huge as the variations in quality. Germans love meat and serious places often offer a large choice of the type of meat you want, from regular to organic (or freiland) quality. The vegetarians are not left behind, veggie burgers are always available. What makes a place good? Meat is one thing for sure but you want the whole package: good bread, good sauce, good vegetables good fries too and they have Orangina Rouge.
After crossing the Kottbusser Brücke several times by day and night and often observing a group of people waiting at the beginning of the Graefestrasse I decided once to stop for a second. Good idea, because the Hamburger Heaven is right there. You come here for the food and you eat outside, only the kitchen is waterproof. Because you eat outside you may call in advance to order when the weather isn’t cooperating or ask for delivery service, especially in the winter.
Sadly or not they are slightly victim to their own success, meaning you may have to wait to be served, so if you pass by and it’s not too crowded, feel obliged to try a burger or their weekly special, you won’t regret it!
