When I first entered Schraders on the Malplaquetstrasse in Wedding, it strangely reminded me of a gastropub, something I’d more expect on the British Isles than in funky Berlin. Schraders is local institution open for over a decade and very welcoming. It’s ale-benches and tables spill to the small square out front in summer, and there are loads of old furniture inside and art on the walls.
Schrader’s menu is quite extensive, but focuses on a delicious array of burgers, tapas and brunch on the weekend. They also serve some delectable vines and special cocktails. If you fancy taking the wine home: the owners of Schraders also run local deli Spiritus Mundi further down the street, where you can buy all wines served in the restaurant.
