Wonder Waffel – Sweet dreams are made of this

You think there isn’t anything special about waffles? Go to Kreuzberg and try the Wonder Waffel. Two words describe these special dough-based cakes: sweet and colorful! And the best thing here is: You can build your own waffle.

Just put anything inside you can imagine – Wonder Waffel has it! Fill your waffle with fresh strawberries, mango slices, coconut pralines, Smarties, choco sauce or just do the classy thing with applesauce and cream. But please watch out you won’t get addicted!

The origin of waffles lies in Belgium and France where the oldest references for waffle irons where found in the 9th century. At the latest in the 15th century it became popular in Germany. But in those days waffles weren’t for everyone but only for the more wealthy people and for special days like holidays.
