Adam Roberts, a Spotter for us since 2009, knows Paris so well that he has written a book on the city which has just been published! Paris Cityscopes, one of a series of city guides published by Reaktion Books in the UK, is a very different kind of guide with over half the book covering the history of the city and a further good chunk in the form of short essays on the Paris of today, with themes including the night, Sundays, immigration and the concierge at a luxury palace hotel! Adam wrote the guide, but also provided most of the photos featured in the book (and there are nearly 100 illustrations!)
Of course, several of Adam’s Spotted by Locals spots are mentioned in the guide, including the roof terrace on the Institut du Monde Arabe pictured here!
If you are planning a visit to the French capital soon or are just fascinated by the city, you can purchase the book through the Reaktion Books with a 20% discount by using this code when you check out: PARIS20
