Like most children, I grew up reading the stories of Hans Christian Andersen and watching films of those fairy tales come to life. Visiting Denmark – and Copenhagen especially – became a particular yet peculiar dream for me: I felt drawn to it thanks to his remarkable works, yet I knew little of his hometown’s history or culture.
