New to the Boston food scene, Dig Inn opened in Copley Square in summer 2016 to give everybody who loves eating their meals out of bowls another option.
A popular eatery in New York City, this is the company’s first foray outside of the Big Apple. Conveniently located in Copley Square, the credo of Dig Inn is wholesome home cooked style food, served quickly and conveniently in a fast casual environment. The atmosphere is a little more upscale than most of the other fast casual options in the city though. Small succulents adorn marble patterned tables, and geometric shapes decorate a distinctly modern colour palette of muted blues and pinks.
The food itself changes with the seasons, but the Marketbowl combinations range from fun grains and brilliant vegetable creations – because who really eats enough of them? – to upscale mac and cheese and delicious roasted chicken for when you need a break from the veg. They also have solid brunch options in picturesque avocado toast and a dope breakfast sandwich I enjoyed, and everything is served in beautiful ceramics.
I definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a wholesome meal at a reasonable cost, and at a quick pace. They’re expanding to two new locations in Boston this year, with more planned for 2017. Dig Inn seems to have managed to marry the convenience and price point of places like Sweetgreen and Chipotle with wholesome, home cooked style food. And it’s yummy too.
