A true Boston institution, Tasty Burger has locations all across the city, and recently expanded with a location in Washington D.C.. Enjoy the Big Tasty in its native land before everybody else hears about it.
The official burger of Boston Calling, the Boston Red Sox, and winner of Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston list in 2014, Tasty Burger is the Hub’s answer to regional giants like Shake Shack, In N Out, and Whattaburger. Not only does this chain have the privilege of being served to your seat inside Fenway Park, they also have an iconic location just outside the green walls (pictured). Open late at night and with window service all year round, it’s my favourite place to pick up a burger, loaded with fried onions and dripping with BBQ sauce. The sandwiches are cheap, just the right amount of greasy, and made with grass fed and hormone free beef. The sauces are from scratch, the buns are homemade, and they have alcohol to pair inside.
There’s just a little more love in these burgers than you find at other comparable chains, and supporting the local economy while eating junk food is pretty appealing. They package all their stellar burgers – including a veggie burger my non-meat-eating girlfriend actually enjoys – in eco-friendly packaging, so you can even feel good about yourself once you’ve finished eating.
Tasty Burger is the true embodiment of a modern burger chain, and in case it wasn’t obvious from my glowing review, the burgers taste damn good too.
