I tend to spend most of my time in my neighborhood so I hardly discover new places despite being extremely curious. Luckily I have friends that invite me out for a drink “on the other side of town”. So I venture all the way there (and then I realize it’s no more than 20 minutes away) and discover some precious places worth mentioning.
The last few times I went to Schaerbeek I found myself returning to “Coté Gourmand”, a precious suggestion from my friend Maribel.
Here I can buy fresh and tasty bread and quiches, but what I actually love about this place is their selection of teas and their small cakes. Last time I ate a “Marquise”, chocolate with a creme brûlée heart: sublime! Not to miss either are the “jus de panier”, the daily fresh juice, which is not cheap but is very good.
And when your belly is happy, don’t forget to take a walk around the Park Josaphat, a surprise for adults and kids.
