Bucharest is known as the “little Paris”, not as the “little New York”. But every city needs a touch of “à l’Américaine”, and such a touch can be seen in the recently opened Ana Baking & Co.
Mainly focused on pastries and Segafredo coffee, you can also have soups, sandwiches and tasty bread. Since I’m on a personal hunt for all-day brunch places in Bucharest, I was happy to discover they have that too.
Even though it’s part of a (very Romanian) large chain of pastry shops, this concept place has very little to do with the rest of the chain. The owner herself has lived in New York and you can see her attention to detail in the decoration and general atmosphere, reminding people of a Soho coffee place whose regular you can easily become.
Oh, you’ve never been to New York? That’s not a problem – pretty much everything in there will recreate it for you. With wi-fi available, it’s sure to become an office away from the office for me every once in a while. Hope to see you there!
