It has the same management as The Embassy (Check the Embassy article), but the concept is nicer. In other words, you can have a tasty meal at the 18th floor of a skyscraper from where you’ll see the north of Bucharest, especially the Herăstrău park. So, if you have the chance go there, try to catch a table near the window, cause it will surely pay back.

I am fond of their cuisine and cocktails and I advise you to try them, especially the fish dishes. They are recognized for their cuisine. Moreover, I appreciate that during lunch time they have a special offer – a full meal at a affordable price. No wonder the spot’s crowded at 14:00.

Also, if you choose to pass by in the evening, I must tell you they’re organizing some parties during the weekend, but the rest of the time the place rests a restaurant. I didn’t manage to stop by after 20:00 o’clock, but I heard it is near impossible: the reservations are made 3 weeks in advance.

Long story short, check their website: you’ll be able to take a look on the menu or to make a reservation. And to see Bucharest from above while having a coffee.

When I’m looking for some really tasteful sweets, I always choose Chocolat and I recommend the spot to anybody who likes to try something really good. The place is also as a restaurant and a French bakery, and they have good and tasteful products. Their cookies/sweets remain the main attraction though.

It is quite a unique place in Bucharest thanks to the French concept around which the spot was organized – you can find here a café, a restaurant and a French bakery (great croissants and bread) all in one. The place is pretty decorated in a retro style which reminds me of the pre-WW2 French cafes seen in the movies.

I heard all the cookies ingredients are natural. Even if this is true or not, I would strongly recommend La Crème Brulee (it is absolutely delicious) or the pies with French cheese. I have to warn you the prices are quite high, but the their products are worth it!

Soon after it was opened, The Embassy attracted lots of people, most of them were working or studying nearby and wanted to spend some time downtown before going home. Its placement is great, the area is well-known and circulated, so the only thing missing was a big, good looking place with tasteful food.

The place has great potential – even if the customers are coming here for a business lunch or a discussion or for a little chat in the nice lounge area which is very comfortable with its sofas and pillows. Also, being a big place, organized on two floors, it has a lot of options on where to sit.

The food is good and not very expensive; they have an international menu with Italian accents (pizza, pasta, fresh salads), the beverages are also decent and the music creates a nice atmosphere.

A long story made short: The Embassy club is a stylish and not very expensive place to go out or to spend some hours after work, especially when hungry and especially since they re-opened their nice and noisy terrace. In that area, sitting down somewhere is quite a luxury, so I guess they seized the opportunity with this spot.

The Harbour is a roomy restaurant, organized on two floors. It’s located in the center of Bucharest, but I assume the prices (the restaurant is not very low-priced for Romanian standards, but reasonable for European standards) don’t express only its location, but rather the quality of food.

The way the place is decorated suggests, of course, a harbour. Parts of a sailing boat, anchors, compasses, ropes, photographs of various places – all of them are placed here with the scope of giving you the feeling you have reached the final point of a sea journey. These days they’ve opened their huge summer terrace – I say huge because they have about 350 places to sit outside and enjoy the cuisine being offered.

They have Mediterranean food, with an accent on delicious seafood. You’ll find all sorts of specialties of your choice here, lots of them containing fish (for example Shrimps with white wine sauce, garlic and chilly pepper, Swordfish fillet, Mediterranean platter – shrimps, clams, baby squid with tomatoes sauce, garlic and chilly pepper) and many others.

I also recommend the home specialties, also very tasty. And if you want something sweet, try Harbour-style Cake, it is delicious!

I often find myself trying to discover new places. Some of them are really not what I desire, so my first visit sometimes remains the only one. Some places, however, have the ability to attract me more than once. These are the places that I recommend for you tourists and locals, restaurants and pubs that do not excel in luxury, but make you feel comfortable. Locations that can be visited anytime and on multiple occasions.

La Monica is a restaurant that is not famous in Bucharest, it does not offer you extravagant products and do not expect to find fancy drinks and expensive menus in it. It is a restaurant for the simple local, a place where a simple individual can relax after work or enjoy a night out with friends without having to worry about prices and dress codes.

This is a place that can easily become renowned but this way the quality of service and products will still be great, the prices will not be boosted and it will remain a good and simple restaurant for everybody to enjoy.
