You know those long work weeks that you can’t wait to finish and you’re looking forward to Friday nights with friends to drink and eat the week away? Salon Golescu is one of those perfect places.
I particularly like the retro atmosphere, mixed with a bit of decadent chic, British lounge feel and the flavor of the past through the big central chandelier, all topped off with a highly modern touch.
They have a great selection of wines, beers and other drinks (including a new favorite for me, Curiosity Cola – if only for the name). From the food menu, being the soup addict that I am, I’ve only tried the delicious cauliflower, fennel and cumin soup, but judging by the satisfied grinning looks of people around me, everything is certainly worth trying.
A huge extra plus: the staff. I may be subjective, since they’re all guys, but they’re always checking to see if things are OK, if you like the food and, of course, if you’d like another refill. Sometimes it’s really hard to say “no”. Have a try at Salon Golescu and let me know if you can!
They also host various weekly Jazz concerts – usually on Thursdays and Sundays. A perfect match with the atmosphere!
